It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kay Lynne Duke Shenesey.
Born in Columbus, MS, on October 20, 1960, to David Leonard Duke (d.) and Barbara Burkhard Duke McCarthy (d.), Lynne graduated from R.B. Stall High School and later completed the nursing program at Trident Technical College.
A long-time resident of Summerville, Lynne raised two sons with her former husband Matthew J. Shenesey II, and devoted her career to caring for those closest to her heart-the elderly.
Lynne lived her life creatively, generously sharing beautifully rendered paintings of nature and portraits of loved ones with family and friends.
After retiring, she relocated to Santee, where she fostered new friendships at For the Love of a Paw animal rescue. Her whimsical murals continue to bring warmth and joy to the temporary homes of the animals she so dearly loved.
Lynne is survived by her son Matthew J. Shenesey III (Briana) and their daughters, Kennedy and Ruby; her son Andrew R. Shenesey and his partner Kayla Bozydaj; sister Lisa Duke; brother David W. Duke; nephew Nathan Reiner; niece Azarel Duke; stepmother Jane Duke and former husband and friend Matt Shenesey (Tamela).
A private service is planned. The family requests donations in memory of Lynne be made to the benefit For the Love of a Paw animal shelter.
