Shirley R. "Fatt" Jefferson Jones

Mrs. Shirley Ruth Jefferson “Fatt” Jones, 67,  daughter of the late Marion Jefferson and Edna Jamison Jefferson, was born on September 15, 1954, and departed this life on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Shirley was educated in the public school of Orangeburg, South Carolina, she was a graduate of Wilkinson High School. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Theodore Jones, Jr. on January 2, 1974. Two children were born into their union.

Shirley was a member of Warren Chapel Baptist Church. She was employed by Orangeburg Consolidated School District for 13 years before she retired. She then worked at Wal-Mart for 4 years. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; three brothers, Eddie, Joseph, and James Jefferson; and one sister, Diane Jefferson.

Shirley leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Angela Jones, of Orangeburg, SC; one son, Theodore (Floravia) Jones, of Lexington, SC; three brothers, John, Willie and Raymond Jefferson, all of Orangeburg, SC; one sister, Marilyn Redish, of Orangeburg, SC; eight grandchildren, Santaj (Chris) Walley-Leeks, Sha’Quanna (Darren) Jones-Wright, Jazzmine (Jhavon) Walley, Kelvon Jones, Omarion Jones, Keyeria Shuler, Tamarian Jones and Tierra Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Kadynn, Kay’Anna, Kingston, Cayson, Maliyah, Ce’Naja and Jhamauri; godchildren, Nicole Jefferson and James Jefferson; special nieces, Carroll Jefferson, and Barbara Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
